This comic grew out of a news story I read some time ago while checking my mail. The facts are true - the teenage girl did commit suicide and her "boyfriend" turned out to be a next-door neighbor whose own daughter did not get along well with the victim.
What's startling is that the online relationship was closely monitored by the victim's parents, but even then, they were still unaware of the emotional effect it was making on the girl. I don't think the neighbor was charged with anything because there weren't any laws protecting citizens within the confines of the internet. Which means... we're on our own.
